More Than 2500 Teachers to Be Stood Down For Failing to Get Their THIRD COVID Jab

April 27, 2022

On Thursday, thousands of teachers in Victoria will be dismissed for failing to get a third Covid-19 shot.

Only Victoria and the Northern Territory require teachers to have a booster dose.

All workers, with the exception of those who have a medical exemption, must have three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine by April 28th.

The shortage of personnel is being felt in schools all over the state, according to principals.

‘Although some were vaccinated over the holidays, the fact that there is now a requirement for three shots means more teachers are now not meeting the mandate,’ the spokesman said.

Visitors and volunteers to school grounds are likewise subject to the three-dose rule, however, parents were recently exempted.

To work around staff absences and cancel school excursions, remaining teachers have been compelled to mix lessons in larger venues.

A representative for the Red Union said there were “no excuses” for the mandatory third vaccination, which he claimed was harming the workers.

According to the Department of Education, 99.2% of the state’s public school teachers received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccination.
