Psychologist Testifies That Amber Heard Has Personality Disorders

A forensic psychologist testified during the high-profile court case that Amber Heard suffers from a borderline personality disorder.

During the civil case hearing, Dr. Shannon Curry, a psychologist appointed by Johnny Depp’s legal team, stated that Heard, 36, also suffers from a histrionic personality disorder.

According to Dr. Curry, the two personality disorders are comparable.

“Driven by an underlying fear of abandonment,” she noted, a borderline personality disorder is a condition of instability.

People with the disease “will make desperate attempts to prevent that from happening” she said, adding that she discovered the diagnosis after 12 hours of interviews with Heard and a study of her mental-health records.

Borderline personality disorder “seems to be a predictive factor for women who implement violence against their partner.”

Dr. Curry noted that histrionic personality disorder is linked to “drama and shallowness,” as well as a need to be the centre of attention.

According to the doctor, persons who are physically appealing and “use their looks to get that attention” have a higher risk of developing the condition.

Dr. Curry also testified that Heard does not suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder as she claims as a result of her connection with Depp.

Dr Curry’s lawyers questioned her for possible prejudice during cross-examination, pointing out that she had dinner and drinks with Depp and his lawyers at Depp’s residence before she was hired – the psychologist replied it was merely part of the interview process.

Heard’s lawyers cited proof that Heard reported abuse to her therapist and the couple’s marriage counsellor at the same time.
