On Monday, a young father was identified as the employee who died in a workplace accident when he was trapped beneath a forklift in Western Sydney.
Tuaese Taufa, 31, was working at an industrial complex in St Marys when the tragedy occurred at around 6:30 am on Monday morning.
Following reports of a serious workplace accident, emergency services such as police and paramedics were dispatched.
When cops and paramedics arrived at the scene, they discovered a guy trapped beneath the four-tonne forklift, and despite their efforts, he was unable to be saved.
“Three ambulance road crews responded to the scene where they found a man in a critical condition,” Caitlyn Murphy from NSW Ambulance told 7NEWS.
“It was a tragic incident. His colleagues were extremely brave in rendering assistance to him.
“Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the man passed away.”
Rescue workers were called in to assist with removing the weighty vehicle.
It’s thought that the individual was employed by Custom Denning, a bus-building business.
Police began their inquiry as shocked coworkers left the scene for the day.
